Summary of 2017 and plans for 2018

Even if the header is in English, I'll start with writing my thoughts of 2017 and plans for 2018 in Finnish, and then continue in English. Siispä ensin suomeksi ajatuksiani ja sitten samat englanniksi.

Team Finsweng'in vuosi 2017 oli huikea. Näin vuoden lopussa kun alkaa keräämään ajatuksia miten summaisi "koiravuottaan 2017" niin päällimmäisenä on kiitollisuus. Olen niin äärimmäisen kiitollinen ja onnellinen että minulla on niin hienoja ystäviä joiden kanssa jakaa ja yhdessä tehdä kaikkea "koiratouhuilua" ja joiden kanssa saa käydä monimuotoisia ja antoisia keskusteluja. Samassa hengenvedossa on todettava että olen kiitollinen perheeni päivittäisestä tuesta ja avusta kasvatustyöni mahdollistamiseksi. Toki suurin osa päivistämme täällä kotona on sitä koirallisen lapsiperheen arkea, mutta varsinkin kun meillä on pentuja tai olen lähdössä näyttelyreissuun, niin huomaan että oikeasti en voisi harrastaa koirankasvatusta ja -näyttelyitä niin helposti jos minulla ei olisi tämän mahtavan perheen tukea ja apua. Pikkuhiljaa perhe on myös "hiipinyt mukaan" näyttelyreissuille, kehitys joka on monella tapaa hienoa. Varsinkin tyttäreni ovat innolla suunnittelemassa seuraavia näyttelyreissuja, mutta myös pentueita, kun taas Pasi on se peruskallio joka pyörittää niitä tuikitärkeitä arjen rutiineja kun minä olen muussa tekemisessä kiinni.

Ei kahta ilman kolmatta sanotaan, ja se on niin totta myös minulle; ystävien ja perheen lisäksi mahtavat kasvatinomistajat ovat ne joista olen kiitollinen. Jokainen kasvattamani pentu on kuin oma lapsi ja heillehän haluaa kaikkea hyvää. On aina niin sanoinkuvamattoman ihanaa ja helpottavaa kun löytyy niitä ihmisiä jotka haluavat tätä hyvää kasvateilleni antaa. - Toki moni kasvatinomistaja on myös ystäväni jo entuudestaan ja monista nuorien kasvattieni omistajista on hyvää vauhtia tulossa hyviä ystäviä. Uusia ystäviä olen saanut myös muita kautta pitkin vuotta. Yhdessä tekeminen on minusta hyvin pitkälle koirankasvatuksen suola, ja sanat eivät riitä kuinka onnellinen olen tästä "tiimistäni" joka ympärilläni mukavasti pyörii ja hyörii. Kiitos!
Teidänkaltaisia ihmisiä toivon löytyvän myös vuoden 2018 pennuille. Pentusuunnitelmista lisää voi lukea Puppy-news-sivulta.

Ulkoilun jälkeen Selma lukee satua kyläilevälle Muppelle (peiton sisällä) ja Naatille.

Vuonna 2017 arjen katkaisi aika monta kertaa päivät jolloin voitettiin palkinto poikineen.

Niitä itse koiramaisia tapahtumia oli kiitettävä määrä pitkin vuotta 2017, ja kun ilman listausta mietin niitä, niin totean että meillähän on mennyt todella hyvin! Jokaiselta näyttelyreissulta on tullut nk voittoja kotiin ja usein olen jopa saanut olla iloisen yllättynyt kun "rima on reilusti ylittynyt". Kun lähtee tyypilliseen suomalaiseen tapaan tekemään parhaansa ja katsomaan mihin se riittää, niin on ollut ilo huomata että kyllä tämä tekeminen (johon todellakin itse uskon) riittää yllättävän korkeisiin palkintosijoihin tiukassakin kilpailussa ja tiukoilla tuomareilla. Blogipostauksissani löytyy tarkempia tuloksia ja alempana olen nostanut muutaman minulle tärkeän reissun "highlight-tyypisesti" esiin.

Kun summaa Team Finsweng'in palkintoja vuodelta 2017 niin määrä voi kuvata kahdella luvulla: sertifikaatteja 27 ja CACIB'eja 10. Samantyylistä tuloksellisuutta toivon ja uskon vuodelta 2018. Suunnitelmissa on nyt ainakin seuraavat näyttelyt (paikkakunnat ja kuukausi):

Double IDS in St.Petersburg

In St.Petersburg big International Dog Shows are held some days before Christmas. This year I travelled to our Eastern neigbor country with Finsweng Tadaa aka Naatti and her half-brother Jetro (Ch Funfanny's I Have A Dream). These siblings have the same mother. 

Both days my just 21-month-old Naatti was BOB and her bro BOS. Both was awarded both days with CACIB and the both CAC's so now we can apply the titles of RUS CH and RKF CH! Both got also the title Nevskiy Winner 2017, but this title will not be enterred into the Finnish Kennel Club's register. None of the Russian winner titles are.

Finland is blue and white, thousands of lakes, green & pure forests, working infrastucture, top school system, peaceful and silent, fresh air, friendly smiles, and much more.

Jyväskylän kansainvälisessä näyttelyssä 15.10.2017 tuli taas luokkavoitto, PN-3-sijoitus ja serti. Neljäs sellainen Suomesta!

Tämä ihmetypy on tänä vuonna osallistunut seitsämään näyttelyyn Suomessa, juniori- ja nuortenluokissa, ja jokaisessa näyttelyssä on saanut ERI:n, SA:n ja sijoittunut PN-luokassa! Neljä sertiä ja kaksi vara-sertiä on meille ojennettu. Tämä lisäksi ulkomaan tuliaiset, mm. CACIB, EE JMVA, EEJV-17 ja LT MVA. Täältä voit katsoa viralliset tiedot.

Better late than ever... below the results from the 4 shows our team enterred in August 2017.

Druskininkai 3x IDS in Lithuania 4.-6.8.17

One of my best friends, Seija Ristola (knl Funfanny's) and I made our traditional summer road trip (again) to southern Lithuania, the spa city of Druskininkai that once a year becomes the hearth of the Baltic dog show world when the three International Dog Shows take place the first weekend of August. Funny enough, one of the main languages in the village, beside Lithuanian and Russian is Finnish. THAT many Finnish dog show enthusiasts travel there even if the trip is long. 1055 km from my home in Finnish Lakeland But the this is always also an exotic and exciting trip, and till now (during 3 years) also we have great success in Druskininkai.

The Aussies Seija and I had "packed" into the car were (in order of age):

FI & EE & LT CH LVV-16 Kisamba's Dream Surfer aka Maisa and her son FI & LT CH Funfanny's I Have A Dream aka Jetro. Also Maisa's daughter, just 16-month-old Naatti (Finsweng Tadaa) was part of the orchestra, as well as our Australian import, 10-month old Horrieglen Supa Strike Force aka Schooner. 

The results from the 3 IDS's are:

Maisa: 2x CACIB, 1x BOB and 1x BOS

Jetro: 3x CACIB, 2x CAC => LT CH, 2x BOB

Naatti: 1x CACIB, 3x CAC => LT CH, res-CACIB, 1x BOS

Schooner: 2x jun-CAC => LT JCh, 1x BOS

Mäntyharju (FIN) all breed show 26.8.2017

As mentioned earlier, during August 2017 the Finsweng -team enterred just 4 shows. The results from the three first you find above. The forth show was the one held in the Finnish village called Mäntyharju. It was held on Saturday the 26th of August and the 17-month-old bitch Finsweng Trallalaa aka Tomu, was the representant of our team. And she did well! She won the junior class and got an excellent.

At this years Specialty of Finnish Aussie Club the Finsweng team was small and young (ages between 10 and 17 months), but very successful. 86 aussies were enterred, and out of these 41 were bitches, 36 males and 9 pups. All results from this Specialty can be read by clicking here

Naatti got a nice critique and I got a good lesson in how to show my pretty girl. Apparently the judge Graham Nolan (Australia) really loved my Naatti, since even if I spoiled parts of her show (I forced her to a too high speed) she ended as 3rd best bitch among the 41 bitches! I'm stunned and so extremely happy of this selfbred rising star who also is the best pet you can imagine. Here is what judge Graham Nolan said about Naatti:
"Very nice bitch. Good head - balanced. Covers the ground.
When moving needs to go slower, reason: jonting."

Show results from May to July, 2017

Sorry for not have updated this blog for ages! For you who have followed me on Facebook have seen that besides bringing up two litters of lovely pups we have done some showing, with, in fact, very nice results. Those pups who are co-owned by me will get their own pages soon, but here listing and some pics from our shows in May, June and July. August posting coming in the end of this month.

In May Naatti was shown twice. The 6th of May she won the junior class, was placed BB-2 under terrier specialist Maija Mäkinen and got her first Finnish CC! Just 13 months old. (you might just imagine how happy I was (and still are)) As you see on the photos below, Naatti is not so convinced... ;) The same day, at another show, her sister Tomu got the great result EXC (also in junior class)

 The 14th of May Naatti won again junior clas and was placed BB-3 with res-CC. Happy!

In June (first weekend) Selma and I travelled to Tallinn, Estonia, with Naatti and Muro Both bitces finalized their Estonian championships during this trip! Naatti became EE JCh and won also the Estonian Junior Winner 2017 -title, and Muro became EE Ch. Happy, happy, happy!

The following weekend Naatti did it again: In Pieksämäki 10.6.2017 under terrier specialist Vesa Lehtonen she won the junior class, was BB-2 and got her 2nd Finnish CC. Again happy faces :)

In July our team enterred just one show, the all breed show in Mikkeli the 8.7.2017. Great results again! Tomu (Finsweng Trallalaa) was BB-2 and got res-CC (photo below). Her sister Naatti was BB-3 and brother Piko won junior class with EXC and CQ (certificate class). I'm so happy and proud, and greatful for having such wonderful friends who take so well care of their Finsweng aussies.

Before Schooner moved to Finland he enterred two shows in Australia, and in both he won Best Baby Puppy of Show! Today I go his ribbons by post. Nice :)

Puppies! Pentuja!

This Eastern time have been filled with puppy news. Valma (CIB* Finsweng Silirimpsis) has four healty pups and her mother, Melukylän Valo-Isa, is due in middle of May. For more information, please see our Puppy news page. Two boys looking for their forever homes.

Valma enjoys motherhood. Valma nauttii äitiydestä.

Pääsiäisen aika on ollut meillä pennuntuoksuista! Tytti (Melukylän Valo-Isa) kävi kiirastorstaina ultrassa ja nyt hän on todistetusti pieniin päin. Tyttärensä Valma (CIB* Finsweng Silirimpsis) taas synnytti pitkäperjantaina ja nyt maitobaarilla ruokailee ja tuhisee neljä tyytyväistä ja hyvin kasvavaa pentua. Countryside joys!

In the Finnish countryside you can do a lot of fun! Here Maisa (Ch Kisamba's Dream Surfer) and her one-year-old daughter Naatti (Finsweng Tadaa ) are jumping in the forest near our house. All photos are taken by daughter Ida Turunen.

Lahti IDS 25.3.2017

One-year-olds Naatti and Piko enterred their first official show in Finland in Lahti the 25th of March, 2017. It was and international dog show and the Australian terriers were judget by Nina Janger. All results here Piko got an VG (very good) and was places 4th in the male junior class. Sister Naatti won the bitch's junior class (5 junior bitched enterred) and was finally chosen BB4 among 13 bithces! Here photos taken by my dear friend Taina Laine.
